Looking ahead to the cities we desire for the future, we bring to Timișoara the suitable space to unleash creativity, innovation, and discussions that can bring about valuable changes. This autumn, Lights On Romania aims to illuminate the path of the city holding the title of Cultural Capital, in the hope that the legacy left in the community by the multitude of events has the power to transform. Within “The Lighthouse,” the curious will be able to attend debates meant to bring new perspectives on the urban environment and, at the same time, promote a healthy development of the nocturnal culture that has the power to make the city come alive.
The audience will traverse the city on foot in a new manner, and the project aims to discuss and explain the diverse benefits of a nocturnal cultural life, emphasizing safety, inclusion, and creativity for participants. We will talk about nighttime transportation in the city, about how light brings transformations, or about the impact that an innovative festival can have on the community. However, we will also look at the impact brought by Timișoara’s title as Cultural Capital to explore what remains post-2023.
“The Lighthouse” is not just an illumination project, but a guiding beacon towards an engaged and informed community. By exploring the art of the world, confronting challenges, and providing an innovative space for the most unique ideas, this project aims to ignite interest and enthusiasm for a bright and innovative urban future.
