They may seem to be two unrelated elements, but in reality they are deeply interconnected and have a significant impact on the quality of life in cities. Smart and innovative urban planning can help create safe, lively and exciting urban nightspaces. Well-designed infrastructure, appropriate street lighting and street design can transform urban neighborhoods into attractive places for cultural and recreational activities, including in the evening.

“Exploring different shades of darkness can bring depth to the night-time experience,” says Professor Marion Roberts. She comes to the Culture of Nightlife Conference in Timisoara to bring an academic and anthropological perspective on how the night-time economy can be taken one step further. From revitalizing urban spaces to make them safer and more welcoming at night to how night lighting is placed – it’s all about urban planning that generates vibrancy whether day or night.

The Daisler Association initiates an open dialogue about the magic of nightlife. What’s more, it transforms Timișoara into a night-time cultural laboratory. Under the motto “Culture Doesn’t Sleep”, The Night-Art Festival brings artistic life after dark to the spotlight, changing the perspective on art and offering visitors a unique experience. The upcoming event will generate a meeting place for those curious and passionate about art and culture, a place for meaningful discussions and ambitious plans. And this autumn the city on the Bega becomes a place that will host light and enlightenment.
