When it comes to architecture, not many beings on Earth are quite as programmed as the Spider. Many spider species come with extraordinary techniques of developing their homes or natural habitats. All involve a great sense of awareness when it comes to the environment.

The Artwork proposed by the Daisler Association and young artist Silviu Ciora dares to provoke a discussion between the modern ways of building against the old ones, about spaces that are transformed by modern architecture, many times by consuming the environment itself. A giant spider is nesting between two well known buildings from one of most busiest streets in Cluj. It tries to find its place between buildings that are standing there, apparently just like many of the new modern buildings of Romania.

Architect Spider is constructed out of materials that today represent a normality in terms of construction, of steel and light. In comparison it stands between two former buildings made out of timber and brick. The contrast between everything resembles the way modern architecture sometimes consumes everything around it. It symbolizes our inability to concept structures that communicate with the environment in which they are located.

We will witness our greatness or our failure in the time that will pass on.
