Lights ON welcomes the “Private Moon” installation designed by Russian artist Leonid Tishkov for the first time in Cluj-Napoca. “Private Moon” is a visual poem telling the story of a man who met the Moon and stayed with her for the rest of his life.
The “Private Moon” traveled as a mobile installation to different countries and continents including Russia, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Austria, France, Switzerland, Slovakia, the Arctic and et cetera. In 2015 the “Private Moon” traveled to Romania and crossed the Carpathian mountains with an ecological mission. In 2014-2017 the artist created in Japan the “Museum of Imaginary Moons”, a series of light installations dedicated to poets of different eras, as Matsuo Basho, Federico Lorca and William Blake.
Your personal urban journeys with the Private Moon began. We had received over 30 applications in which you had described how you would show the Moon to the world. During the following days, some of you will have the chance to take away the Moon for 24h. Thank you all for wanting to be part of this project. And do not forget: the Moon is closer than you think. So just look up and enjoy its magic.
